Shifting baselines– the starting point

Alright, it’s happening. I was just inspired by old me (thanks me!) after reading a language progress tracking blog I kept up for a few months in South America.

I’ve reached a point in my life where I’m ready to push myself through a complete transformation in terms of my health, my nutrition, my activity, and my overall relationship with my body.

I have a couple friends who have gone through or are going through something similar, and I’m always really inspired by their accomplishments. It’s time to start putting the pieces together in my own life, expressing my self-love, and moving forward towards a holistic model of a truly healthy wellness. But most importantly: I’m not doing this because I should, I’m doing this because I really want to! I want to cultivate joy inside myself and reflect it outward. I want to dance to express happiness and endurance. I want to know my body, every system, talk to my body at a deep level, trust my incredible cellular mechanisms for recovery and health, and guide them with loving energy.

I plan to start with dance, diet optimization, body system balance, and physical training through something active but also spiritually grounding, like a martial art.

health is wealth

Dance will be my first fitness goal, since so far, letting it into my life has been opening up other parts of me I want to explore. But I’ll track general health things here to chart my progress, learn from others in this community, explore new ideas, and set net goals. I would love to write about once a week, setting micro-goals as often as possible.

I look forward to learning more. So, goal #1: within a week I’d like to have my first post and some goals. Let’s go self!

Welcome, thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for sharing. xx
